"Yes I love you but I hate you. And you're great to be around but sometimes I just can't stand this game. So I walk out then I come back." Gonzales had me giddy when I first heard this track from his 2008 release, Soft Power. I didn't know who he was up until that point but this track changed all that. If you love Todd Rundgren, then you'll understand my excitement upon hearing Slow Down. It sounds like something that should have been recorded in the seventies. His roots are classical yet he has played in alternative rock bands, released dance singles and played in a hip hop band. If you are one of the many that purchased Feist's Let It Die or The Reminder albums, he was a major collaborator. He has been residing outside of Canada for quite some time, both in France and Germany. He is also due to release another album and film entitled, Ivory Tower, this year under the name Chilly Gonzales. You can purchase Soft Power on Itunes and Amazon. You can hear the song, Slow Down, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuPd_QBaPto&feature=related). There is also some footage of him performing this song in Paris as part of his Guinness World Records longest performance. You can follow Gonzales or Chilly as he is now known, at http://www.gonzpiration.com/. As always, you can hear this song as well as others that I blog about each day on Live 365 (www.live365.com/stations/raisedoncndnradio). Thanks for reading and enjoy!
