Artist: Lindy, Album: Lindy, Song: Florence Street

"Into the morning out of a dream.  I thought I thought of everything.  It takes me back to Florence Street."  Lindy is of Icelandic descent but grew up in Manitoba.  His parents were folk singers that travelled and performed for former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau.  Lindy settled in Toronto, recorded his self titled debut in Vancouver and released it on the Montreal based label, Aquarius, in 1998.  He is a musical poet.  His songs are melodic and his lyrics are clever.  Florence Street is the lead off track on the album and his style reminds me a lot of Bob Dylan or Ike Reilly.  More recently, Lindy is one half of the group Major Maker which has had some considerable success in Canada.  He does continue to play as a solo artist and you can follow him at http://www.lindymusic.com/.  The self titled debut is available on Itunes.  You can hear the song, Florence Street, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Asy_6CBsWJs).  As always, you can hear this song as well as others that I blog about each day on Live 365 (http://www.live365.com/stations/raisedoncndnradio).  Thanks for reading and enjoy!
