Artist: Zuul's Evil Disco, Album: Homemade Prozak, Song: Superfantabulous

"It's a superfantabulous chicken surprise!"  Zuul's Evil Disco (aka ZED) were a funk rock band from London, Ontario that formed in the nineties.  The members were Western University students who were inspired after attending a Rainbow Butt Monkeys' concert at Call The Office in London.  They enrolled in a Battle of the Bands contest and released some demos and the rest is history.  Their first full length, entitled, Funkalupatropolis, was released in 1997.  They would follow it up with one more album in 1999, entitled, Homemade Prozak.  That album included this catchy funk fuelled ditty, Superfantabulous.  The band broke up shortly after this release but have reformed in recent years to play live shows and festivals.  They have begun to chronicle their story at http://www.zuulsevildisco.com/.  A supremely talented band that deserved more than regional recognition.  Although it's easy to make comparisons with bands like the Red Hot Chilipeppers, they found a way to do it in their own style and remain unique.  Unfortunately, their music is very hard to find today.  At the time of this blog, there were copies of Homemade Prozak trading between $40 and $180 on Amazon.  You can hear the song, Superfantabulous, on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jvZMcfCsPE).  Thanks for reading and enjoy!
