Artist: Jenica Rayne, Album: Hall Of Memories, Song: The Door

"Oh you lost that precious thought, the one you carried, the one I married.  'Cause we've been holding on to what would happen if the door opened and we walked out of this.  Breaks my heart to feel this change, the truth is what remains.  Warmer days and sunshine, they fill the air with our regrets.  The door sits wide open, I'll walk through first I guess."  Jenica Rayne is a singer songwriter from Kingston, Ontario.  She left Ontario at one point and went to school in Vancouver.  It was there, in 1999, that she hooked up with former Doug & The Slugs keyboardist, Simon Kendall, who produced her debut album, Hall Of Memories.  Since this album, Jenica has returned to Ontario and continues to play as a solo artist or as a member of the Calamity Janes.  She has released three albums to date, her most recent in 2007.  She is a wonderful lyricist and the lead off track, The Door, from her debut, is a good example of that.  It is a very powerful song about love and leaving.  You can hear this song on You Tube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VauvAoJV56U).  You can purchase, Hall Of Memories, on Itunes. Jenica continues to play and tour in the Kingston area.  You can follow her at http://www.jenicarayne.com/.  Thanks for reading and enjoy!
